Working with valued partners, the Medtronic Interventional Lung Solutions business is helping to evolve and transform lung health care. The Medtronic Interventional Lung Solutions business was recently honored with the Addario Lung Cancer Foundation’s (ALCF) “Simply the Best” award for Excellence in Collaboration and Innovation. The award was presented at ALCF’s tenth annual “Simply the Best” fundraising dinner and gala on Nov. 14 in San Francisco. Bonnie J. Addario, ALCF founder and a stage 3B lung cancer survivor noted, “Together we are setting the stage for a new, personalized standard of care to improve outcomes for all lung cancer patients.”
Heather Hudnut Page, Vice President Global Marketing, Medtronic, Interventional Lung Solutions, accepted the award. “Working with ALCF and many other key partners, we are helping to expand access to care, creating a more streamlined continuum that supports earlier diagnosis and thus earlier treatment and improved survival,” said Hudnut Page. “Nowhere is the full impact of collaboration more evident than in the partnership demonstrated by the Addario Lung Cancer Foundation’s Community Hospital Center of Excellence Program and the Medtronic Impact Program. This collaboration is working to fix the challenges inherent at the system level that are slowing presentation to treatment times and impacting survival rates.”
This is the first time that the Medtronic Interventional Lung Solutions business has received an international award and the first time ever the ALCF award was received by a medical device company. For more information on the award and event, please visit the ALCF website.
